Open Aye
Open Aye is a subsidiary of BDP and operates as a social enterprise.
Open Aye provides participatory photography workshops for hard to reach groups in Scotland. PPWs empower those who are traditionally the subjects of photographs, to become its creators. Open Aye workshops can have both personal, therapeutic and wider advocacy benefits, through a body work of work created collectively.
Run by Becky Duncan, a trained photographer and humanitarian educator, Open Aye works closely with charities and groups to devise, manage and facilitate bespoke participatory photography projects to marginalised and vulnerable communities within Scotland. Through photography-based training, Open Aye helps build skills, giving people the opportunity to represent themselves, tell their story, raise awareness on issues, empower them to communicate for social change and give solutions to many of society’s problems.
